What you should know about frequency

Severe Dandruff – The Dandruff Free Me Challenge should comprise of the Monthly, Weekly and Daily treatments.

Mild Dandruff – The Dandruff Free Me Challenge should comprise of Monthly and Weekly treatments.

Sensitive Scalp – Please use 1/2 the dosage of all essential oils

Launch your personal Dandruff Free Me Challenge by starting out with the Baking Soda Treatment that should be done Monthly.

Monthly
Baking Soda Treatment
Apply moistened baking soda to your scalp and hair to remove dead skin cells and built-up hair products.

Section your hair into four parts, and deeply, but gently, massage the baking soda into your scalp.

Shampoo your hair after rinsing out the baking soda with warm water. Then continue with conditioning your hair and drying as usual

Every week, commit to pre-pooing your scalp with the oil blend that suits your scalp condition.

Weekly
Amla Oil Pre-Poo Blend (Normal Dandruff)

1/2 ounce / 15 ml of amla oil
10 drops of peppermint oil (for sensitive scalps, use 5 drops)

Mix this blend and use ROOTS ONLY to glide the blend straight onto your scalp with no mess. This will be done within 30 seconds.

Add Amla oil to the rest of your hair as needed. Cap your hair for at least an hour.

For an overnight pre-poo, cover with cap, and then place dhuki over the cap itself to ensure it’s secure.

When ready, wet hair a little and massage deeply and slowly. When satisfied, shampoo as normal.

Olive & Castor Oil Pre-Poo Blend (Severe Case of Dandruff)
1/2 ounce / 15 ml Olive Oil and 1/2 ounce / 15 ml Castor Oil
3 drops of tea tree oil (for sensitive scalps, use 2 drops or 3 drops of peppermint oil)

Mix this blend and use ROOTS ONLY to glide the blend straight onto your scalp with no mess. This will be done within 30 seconds

Add Olive oil to the rest of your hair as needed. Cap your hair for at least an hour

For an overnight pre-poo, cover with cap (check to see that the tingly sensation is comfortable), then place dhuki over the cap itself to ensure it’s secure.

When ready, wet hair a little and massage deeply and slowly. When satisfied, shampoo as normal.

If your dandruff situation is severe, oil your scalp with the following blend before going to bed and don’t forget the deep soothing massage after.

If your dandruff situation is considered normal and your scalp feels moisturized, then moisturise up to three times a week.

Every Night
Castor oil and Olive oil blend
40% Castor oil and 60% Olive Oil

Mix this blend and use ROOTS ONLY to glide the blend straight onto your scalp with no mess. It shaves minutes off your scalp treatment as it takes just 30 seconds to moisturise your whole scalp.

    Thanks for the blog…quick question; are we able to get the Roots only applicator in Zim?

    1. Unfortunately it’s not being distributed in Zim as yet.

  3. Alternatively you can use an empty Inecto bottle (the hair colouring product) with a tip at the end to distribute product. The process will take slightly longer but it works.
